New article published on the importance of peace and conflict theory perspectives for social work that is critical of discrimination.

This article examines the need for a perspective in social work that is critical of discrimination and oriented towards peace and conflict theory approaches. Against the background of social inequality relations, it is made clear that social work is involved in the (re-)production dynamics of difference and discrimination both in science and in practice. Therefore, a conflict-sensitive perspective based on peace theory is developed that emphasizes the concept of positive peace - an understanding of peace that goes beyond the mere absence of violence and encompasses the active creation
of justice and the dismantling of structural discrimination. Building on this, a reflexive stance is emphasized for social work that is informed by peace theory and critical of discrimination, which outlines implications for social work practice at micro, meso and macro levels in order to reduce discrimination.
