Regional educational disparities in the migration society

Unequal educational opportunities are well-documented findings of social inequality research. The main reasons for this are differences in starting opportunities depending on social background and migration background. However, this finding fails to recognize that there is often enormous variation in educational success among migrants within the German federal states. This is remarkable, given that the same federal school system, uniform school law, and the same financing structure prevail within a federal state. The project therefore seeks to identify further factors that explain regional inequalities in educational opportunities among migrants.
