Our team at the DGS Congress 2025

Our team was represented at the congress of the German Sociological Association in September with contributions from current research.

The theme of this year's DGS congress at the University of Duisburg-Essen was "Transitions". Our team was able to present and discuss its own research topics in this context:

Aladin El-Mafaalani as a speaker at the plenary session of the first special event:"Schools under pressure: What can sociology do in times of crisis?"

Thomas Kemper gave a presentation entitled"School success of refugees in selected federal states - secondary analyses based on data from official school statistics" in the session series"Transitions and trajectories of young refugees in the German education system".

We were delighted with the lively participation in our presentations as well as the numerous questions, thoughts and discussions during, between and after the events and are looking forward to the next congress in Mainz in 2026.
