News from Sociology of Migration and Education - New article by Dr. Thomas Kemper and Dr. Anna Cornelia Reinhardt

The state of research on the qualifications achieved by refugees at general education schools is inadequate. The article first operationalizes the term 'refugees' and then conducts a secondary analysis of the school success of refugees compared to non-refugee pupils in federal states with sufficient data. Data from the Central Register of Foreigners and the official school statistics are combined and analyzed. The results point to considerable disparities in school success overall, which also vary greatly from region to region. Link to the publication
